Domaine Alain Chavy Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes 2023

Alain Chavy founded this tiny 6.5-hectare domaine in 2003 after learning his craft at the family estate. Les Charmes is a single-vineyard Puligny on clay-limestone, right beside Meursault’s famous Premier Cru Les Charmes, marrying Meursault’s richness with Puligny’s elegance and minerality. Barrel-fermented and aged for 16 months, mainly in large casks with little new oak, it’s made for precision rather than butteriness: stone fruit, citrus and subtle toast, with a long, mineral finish. A classic white Burgundy for a celebratory dinner, best with scallops, lobster or roast chicken.
